Stacking Cruise Offers: What Combines With What
The biggest cruise savings usually come from stacking: a sale fare, plus a loyalty perk, plus an agency amenity. But every offer has a “combinability” clause, and they do not all fit together.
| Often combine (check terms) | Often do not combine |
|---|---|
| A line-wide sale and a loyalty member discount | Two promo codes of the same type |
| A promotion and eligibility rates such as senior or resident (on some lines) | Group rates and individual promo codes |
| Line offers and advisor amenities | Casino offers and most other promotions |
| Onboard credit from different sources | Travel agent, interline and net rates and public promotions |
These are patterns, not rules. Each line’s terms — and each individual offer’s terms — decide.
How to Stack Offers Without Losing One
- Start with the fare you want, then ask which offers apply to it.
- Ask whether adding a code removes an offer already on the booking.
- Check whether the best combination forces a non-refundable deposit.
- Add your loyalty number and any eligibility proof before final payment.
- Keep every offer’s terms with your booking confirmation.

Timing matters too. Wave Season early in the year often brings the most layers at once; see Wave Season. Sailing soon instead? Last Minute Cruising explains how short-notice offers differ.
Stacking and Price Drops
A newer, better offer can appear after you book. Before final payment, many lines let a booking be re-priced to a current offer, but the new offer may replace rather than add to the old one, and non-refundable deposits change the rules. Ask before you switch: you want the better total, not just the newer promotion. Best Cruise Quotes covers price drops and re-quoting in detail.
After final payment, re-pricing is much less common. That is one reason the best time to stack offers is before you put money down.
Questions to Ask When Stacking
- Which of these offers apply to my exact sailing and cabin?
- Does adding one remove another?
- Does the combination change my deposit or cancellation terms?
- What proof do I need, and by when?
Stacking FAQ
Can I use two cruise promo codes at once?
Usually not two codes of the same kind, but a code can sometimes combine with other types of offer, such as a loyalty discount. The terms of each offer say what it combines with.
Do senior or military rates stack with promotions?
Sometimes. Royal Caribbean’s published promo-code terms, for example, have allowed combination with restricted rates such as senior, resident and military. Other lines differ. Cruise Discounters covers those rates.
